Positive Behaviour for Learning
Positive Behaviour For Learning (PB4L) is about building an environment where our students realise that they can get their needs met more effectively by using positive pro-social behaviours. It is a school-wide initiative to enhance behaviour and learning. The big picture is all about improving quality of life for all teachers and students at Hukarere.
Hukarere Girls’ College is committed to doing our best to ensure our students achieve their very best in all aspects of their lives for their futures. We provide an environment for students to be well cared for and to live and learn as sisters. The students have opportunities to thrive academically, socially, spiritually and culturally to become strong, confident proud women ready to lead their whanau, hapῡ and iwi into tomorrow’s world.
We have selected AROHA as our branding concept.
A for Aspire to excel in everything that you do. Never except mediocre.
R for Respect for self, others and property.
O for Opportunities to learn and to lead.
H for Harmony in everything that you do.
A for Anglican Values. Be kind, be honest, be generous, be tolerant, and be happy.
At Hukarere’s heart are our Christian beliefs which guide our lives in everything we do. They help us rise to challenges and cope with difficulties.
We have chosen the korowai as our symbolic representation of embracing the AROHA branding concept.
PB4L embraces the academic, behavioural, spiritual, social, cultural and physical aspects of Hukarere. It is included in our Vision and Mission statements, school motto “Kia Ū Ki Te Pai
