Campus
Hukarere is an integrated secondary school. We cater non-exclusevly for the education of young Māori Anglican women, with facilities for boarders and day students. With a capped roll of 120 students, we have a mix of day students who all trave to school by bus and boarders, who come from as far North as Matauri Bay and as far South as Invercargill. We even have students from Australia.
The historical site on Napier Hill (Mataruahou) was sold in October 2004 and Hukarere is now settled in its new surroundings at 17 Shaw Road, R D 2, Eskdale, Napier, nestled in a beautiful rural setting conducive to learning and boarding, just 15 minutes from Napier City.
Since opening in 1875, Hukarere has experienced a number of challenging situations and as a result has grown from strength to strength. The school provides quality educational opportunities for its students and is supported by the local community.
